Why A Drainage System is Necessary
Water can leak into a home through the foundation during many times of the year, including those with heavy rain or when snow from the winter season begins to melt. Gutters that were not properly installed or have become damaged are not able to push water away from the home. As a result, the soil surrounding the foundation becomes oversaturated with moisture. The over saturation allows water to seep into the home through new or existing foundation cracks, or through the cove joint where the wall meets the footing. This can lead to a variety of problems such as fungus growth, destruction of personal possessions, or even structural damage to the foundation or the home.
What is a French Drain?
A French Drain is typically comprised of a perforated drain pipe placed within a trench and covered with gravel or a gravel-like material. The French Drain is used to redirect surface and ground water away from the home. Depending on the home, the costs of this type of drainage system will vary, but projects can cost upwards of $1000. Unfortunately, French Drain systems can be prone to clogging and are not as reliable as Intech Anchoring’s recommended solution – the Hydraway Drainage Solution.
What is Hydraway Drainage?
The Hydraway System has been manufactured by Intech Anchoring for over 20 years. The popularity of Hydraway among contractors has continued to grow because it works better than any other draining system on the market. The Hydraway Drainage System protects basements and crawlspaces from water that may enter.
The Hydraway Drainage System is comprised of three separate parts:
- Hydraway 2000
- Hydraway 300
First, the Hydraway 2000 removes the water from the foundation. Instead of a standard pipe made of plastic or metal, Hydraway 2000 is made of a special geotextile fabric that is completely clog resistant. Once it has been installed in the problematic area of the house, it serves to stop water from entering the foundation before any damage has a chance to occur.
The next piece of the system is the Hydraway 300. This component captures water at the cove joint, or where the footing of the foundation meets the wall and the floor. This is the weakest part of the foundation. The Hydraway 300 acts as a bridge for the Hydraway Drainage System, directing water down to the Hydraway 2000.
The Hydraway 300 can also be used as a completely separate component, independent of the Hydraway 2000. If needed, it can be used for drainage on retaining walls, exterior foundations, planter boxes, landscaping, and sub-slab construction.
The final part of the system is the Hydrapump. The Hydrapump is Intech Anchoring’s brand of sump pump that captures water from the Hydraway System and redirects it through the exterior of the home using PVC drainpipes and discharge lines.
The Hydraway Drainage System provides time-tested waterproofing protection to any home. It prevents water from seeping into the basement or crawlspace, ensuring the foundation remains structurally sound.

Flow Rate Demonstration
There are several french drain options available on the market today. However, none compare to the compressive strength, guaranteed results, and in-flow rate of the Hydraway Drainage System.
