The Innovative Ventilation System For Natually Occuring Gases
Get To Know Hydravent®

Hydravent® is an innovative and cost-effective ventilation system for naturally occurring gases such as methane, radon, and soil gases.
Hydravent is a series of collector lines, systematically spaced, that are connected to vents. It acts as an absorption material beneath liners and vents gases in a controlled, efficient, and safe manner. By using components of the proven Hydraway drainage system, this venting system realizes unparalleled strength, an industry-leading in-flow rate, and a history of long life. Using Hydravent as a flow path for gases prevents damage caused by these gases, such as lifting or tearing of a liner beneath a water retention pond.
A Smarter Approach to Gas Management
Managing naturally occurring gases like methane, radon, and soil gases is one of the more challenging parts of any site work involving liners, landfills, or water retention structures. Intech Anchoring Systems offers Hydravent, an innovative and cost effective ventilation solution designed to channel these gases safely and efficiently beneath liners and throughout a wide range of applications.

Hydravent Applications
Hydravent works across a wide range of applications where naturally occurring gases need to be managed safely and efficiently. Here are the most common uses for the system.
- Pond or lagoon liners: Prevents gas buildup that can lift or damage liners over time.
- Landfills: Vents gases produced by decomposing waste materials.
- Water treatment facilities: Manages gases that accumulate during treatment processes.
- Wastewater management: Handles gas venting in wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Mining: Supports safe gas management at active and reclaimed mining sites.
- Petroleum facilities: Vents gases associated with petroleum storage and handling.
- Fish hatcheries: Manages soil and water related gases at hatchery installations.
- Brownfields: Addresses gases at reclaimed industrial and contaminated sites.
- Subways: Vents methane and other gases in underground transit infrastructure.
Engineered for Strength, Efficiency & Long Term Performance
Hydravent is a series of collector lines, systematically spaced and connected to vents, that act as an absorption material beneath liners while venting gases in a controlled, efficient, and safe manner. By using components of the proven Hydraway drainage system, Hydravent delivers the kind of performance that makes it a trusted choice for projects where gas management really matters. The result is a system that prevents the damage these gases can cause, such as lifting or tearing of liners beneath water retention ponds and similar structures.
The design of Hydravent combines strength, efficiency, and longevity in a way few other ventilation options can match. Engineers and contractors turn to Hydravent when the stakes are high and the project demands a system that will perform reliably for years without ongoing maintenance headaches.
Installing Hydravent
Hydravent is rolled out in a pattern and is covered by a liner, and it is specifically designed with no memory so it easily keeps its shape while the liner is installed. Taking advantage of gravity and slope, Hydravent follows the contours of the area being vented, while the collector lines are oriented in the direction that offers a path of least resistance to the high point. The system is usually spaced at 15 to 20 foot intervals, creating a grid for collection and removal of gases across the entire installation area.
Hydravent comes in widths of 6 and 12 inches, with a standard length of 150 feet, though it can be customized in a variety of lengths and widths upon request to meet the specific needs of each project. Because every site and application is unique, our engineering team provides consulting and layout designs to make sure the installation delivers the most efficient ventilation possible. That hands-on support helps engineers and contractors get the best results from every Hydravent installation.
Vent Manifold
The vent manifold system design is used when individual vents are not desirable, are not aesthetically pleasing, or are prevented by local codes. In these situations, a manifold is constructed around the perimeter of the installation, giving contractors a cleaner look and a centralized way to collect and transport the vented gases. This approach keeps the surface of the site free from multiple visible vents while still delivering the gas management performance the project requires.
PVC and Schedule 40 pipe are used to transport gas through the manifold system, which makes the setup compatible with widely available materials and simplifies the sourcing and installation process.
That combination of aesthetic flexibility and practical material choices makes the vent manifold design a popular option for many Hydravent applications.
Vent Stack
The vent stack system design is used to vent collected gases to the atmosphere while protecting the system from the elements and weather conditions. Vent stacks are connected at the highest point of the collector lines, where they take full advantage of gravity and pressure to move gases up and out of the system efficiently.
This design is straightforward, reliable, and well suited to projects where visible venting is acceptable or preferred.
Like the manifold system, the vent stack design is compatible with PVC and Schedule 40 pipe, which keeps the installation simple and cost effective.
The result is a proven way to vent gases to the atmosphere while keeping the overall Hydravent system protected and performing at its best.
Hydravent Installation Project Highlight
Project Name – Airport methane venting
Location – Newark, NJ
Industry / Sector – Transportation
Project Summary – Hydravent was used to vent methane gas buildup in walkway tunnel.
Product Type – Hydravent
Project Challenges – Design of venting system that would channel methane gases.
It was determined that methane gas was present in the new walkway tunnel. The specifying engineering firm out of New York City chose Hydravent to mitigate the methane from the tunnel after extensive testing on this high profile project.
As a material supplier, we worked closely with the specifying engineer to provide data and certifications. Intech Anchoring Systems also assisted in the development of customized fittings for the specific use case on this project.
Hydravent Venting System, including the customized fittings, was chosen due to the extremely high in-flow rate of methane gases. With Hydravent’s compressive strength, the system was tested to failure and proved an excellent option for this project.
Hydravent performed as expected and continues to perform exceptionally well. The customized fittings worked as designed. Hydravent was installed with 25-foot spacing on the outside of the tunnel walls that went up and over the wall. The project was completed on time with the expected results.
